Refund Policy

Our Savings Guarantee

If Nassau County does not lower your assessed value in its final determination as a result of the grievance we filed on your behalf, we will refund your payment in full. Guaranteed.

Nassau County typically publishes final determinations between April and May following the filing period. Once final determinations are published, we will review every case and process refunds for any property that received a 0% reduction.

Additional Refund Eligibility

Beyond the savings guarantee, we will also issue a full refund if:

• A technical failure on our end prevented your grievance from being filed
• You were charged in error (duplicate transaction, unauthorized charge, etc.)
• Your grievance was rejected by ARC due to an error attributable to Nassau Tax Buddy (for example, an incorrectly formatted authorization form)

When Refunds Are Not Available

Refunds are not available in the following situations:

• Your grievance was successfully filed and Nassau County lowered your assessed value by any amount (even if the reduction was less than you hoped)
• Your grievance was rejected because you also authorized another representative to file for the same property and tax year (a duplicate filing under ARC Rule 9.3)
• You provided inaccurate information (wrong address, incorrect ownership details) that led to an invalid filing

How to Request a Refund

Email hello@nassautaxbuddy.com with the subject line "Refund Request" and include the email address associated with your case. We will process eligible refunds within 5 business days. Refunds are returned to the original payment method.

For savings guarantee refunds, you do not need to contact us — we will proactively review all cases when ARC publishes its determinations and issue refunds automatically for properties that received no reduction.

What Happens After a Refund

A refund from Nassau Tax Buddy does not affect your grievance filing with Nassau County. If your grievance was already submitted to ARC, it remains active and will be reviewed regardless of whether you received a refund from us.
